When Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai was appointed to head the prestigious Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil, plenty of people within the school and it’s vicinity likewise the larger majority lauded the idea behind.
Thus as a phrase says action speaks louder than voice, the ovation that greeted the appointment was not for anything rather than due to his unassuming attributes including joviality, embracing all with open arms, humility, neutrality, transparency , accountability and openness and above all his ability to serve the humanity wholly and squarely.
Obviously from assuming the leadership as has been one of the qualities of a good administrator, he consolidated on the array of achievements of his predecessors and initiated fresh policies and programmes with a view to ensuring one of first crop of state owned Science Institutions nationwide, continue to set the pace while others follow.
The University Don, from his appointment on the exalted seat as a result of his amiability coupled with immaculity he was able to uplift the position of things within the shortest possible time which made friends and followers of how the university’s activities were being run surprise hence started meditating the reason behind.
Frankly speaking, as his qualities have rightly shown Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai despite the fact that he is apolitical,he is a Democrat as he usually gives his subordinates the free hand to steer the activities of their Departments provided what will be done is on the right track this singular act without mincing word boasted his fame within the school community and made him first among equals among the crop of Wudil based University vice Chancellors that performed creditably excellent within a short span.
Sincerely speaking the Professor delightfully among other things he done was how he tried his utmost in cementing the existing sour relationship between the academic staffers and the headship of the school an act that previously crippled activities at the institution but with the normalization of things, courtesy of his visionary attitude,was fairness, love understanding, affection among the students , academics as well as non academics and apart from that boosted his popularity modern ever before and also that of the University.
It was as a result of his spectacular ideals, together with his believe to accord subordinates staffers the chance to give their quota towards the speedy development of the University as proverbial statement says a tree cannot make a forest, gives a non academic staff for the first time in the school’s history the office of Sports Director.
This was none other person than Coach Shandy a ubiquitous name in soccer circle in Kano and jigawa states having ply his trades for many teams.
Among such clubs were Federal United, Taufiq Contractors and the last but not the least Jigawa Golden Stars.
Coach Shandy a graduate of History from Bayern University, was at one time an assistant Coach of Kano Pillars Football Club.
Being a person imbued with enormous talents and experience the changes this gentleman man of repute brought to the field of sports as far as this famous institution of learning is concerned are numerous as from his assumption into office he initiated a soccer competition among the various arms of the school aimed at forging togetherness and understanding among one and all in the University the event which had since reached its climax
and sooner than later, other events comprising table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, athletics, judo, wrestling, five aside volley ball and host of others that will make the University environment more lively will follow suit.
Devoid of equivocation what witnessed was just the beginning as being a transformer cum reformer professor Musa Tukur Yakasai’s hope is ooised to bringing sweeping changes to the institution in a way that it will be an envy of all across the federation and with popular support and cooperation he is as good at achieving his goal.
Certainly those that knows him in and out as a serious minded person and progressive going by his zeal coupled with determination will surely attest to it.
Baring any obstacle, will in no distant time attain his dream thus bestowing the confidence bestowed on him by the Government.
It is our ceaseless prayers that God will feed him with a think tank that would guide him in that respect and beside that shield him against hidden and unhidden adversaries.
