Nigeria Union of Journalists aspirant for the top seat during forthcoming Triennial Conference to hold later this month in Owerri the Imo State Capital Comrade Alahsan Yahaya made the statement while addressing fellow journalists at the state office of the outfit along farm centre in the metropolis on a campaign visit
The suitor who is the zonal vice president of the union in charge of North East,says as soon as he realized his dream he will pay a visit to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf where he will seek for his endorsement on the matter.
The aspirant for the hot seat explained that if an edifice will be renamed after Ladi Lawal in Lagos same could also be done in Kano for Abduljalal in view of his trait when he chaired the pen organisation.
Comrade Alahsan Yahaya added that he will tried assiduously in ensuring that delegates from Kano were increased from the present twenty which has been the case for years with a view to ensuring justice and fairness reign supreme in the overall conduct of the union’s affairs.
He said this becomes necessary going by the number of media outfits in the state capital and beside that to bridge the existing huge gap with other states that have huge numbers.
The onetime Chairman of Gombe state union maintained that among his missions if voted into power is to ensure colleagues in the industry were sufficiently paid with a view to observing their spelt out functions devoid of hitches.
He added that others were the reintroduction of insurance scheme to cover members.
Other plans comprise establishment of Nuj on line Radio station ,training and retraining of Journalists with a view to boosting their skills and keep them abreast ensuring their full freedom of expression of opinions without molestation or harassment, infrastructural development, sourcing for intervention funds and likewise investment drive aimed at ensuring the union stand on its feet.
Comrade Alahsan Yahaya who was together with his running mate Comrade Abimbola Oyetunde, during the visit equivocally stated that as soon as their dream becomes practical, additional fresh sweeping changes will be brought to bear in the union for the benefit of one and all.
He reaffirmed that electing them will not be a failed exercise in view of their seriousness , cognate experience and well documented plans and policies geared towards taking the professional body to the next level.
He thanked the state Chapel for the level of solidarity shown to them expressing optimism that when they come on board they would not disappoint.
Earlier,the Director General of the Campaign Train,Alhaji Ismail Ademola Babalola who is equally the Chairman of Oyo state wing of the outfit ,stressed that they were in Kano to canvass for delegates vote as the conference is some days away.
The campaign Manager added that as seeing is believing he is pretty sure the delegates in Kano are with the duo like the situation is in other states they visited.
He maintained that their election will Profoundly ensure mutual understanding fairness, cohesion , justice and above all according to him balance the equation as the incumbent President Chris Isuguzo is from the other part of the country.
While speaking National Leader of NAWOJ,Hajiya Aisha K Bura described Comrade Alahsan Yahaya as discipline, truthful, humble,caring, well articulated, patient and a person that matches theory with practice hence called on the delegates to cast their to the team in order to guard against regret.
Others who spoke at the event including Comrade Suleiman Dederi Chairman of Kano chapel reaffirmed their support for the A+A team as the duo were called based on their acronym.
Comrade Dederi reechoed that electing them will definitely bring about positive development, harmony and togetherness.
The team had since left for Kaduna in continuation for the drive for votes during the upcoming conference.
