The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, has commended the Kano State Government for the steady progress recorded in ongoing infrastructural projects across the state, describing the development as a reflection of purposeful leadership and effective governance.
This was contained in a statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Speaking on behalf of the Speaker, Usman Bello Kumo said the National Assembly is impressed with the pace and quality of work being executed by the current administration in Kano State.
He noted, during an inspection of ongoing projects, that the developments are clear evidence of responsible leadership and prudent management of public resources. He added that strategic investments in roads and bridges will ease movement and create economic opportunities.
Kumo reaffirmed the National Assembly’s readiness to support policies and programmes that improve the welfare of Nigerians, stressing that collaboration between federal and state governments remains critical to sustainable development.
He also urged Kano residents to continue supporting the administration to ensure timely completion of projects, noting that development thrives on public trust and cooperation.
In his remarks, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced that the Dan’agundi and Tal’udu interchange flyover projects will be completed next month.
He explained that the Dan’agundi axis had long suffered from heavy traffic congestion affecting commuters and traders, adding that addressing the challenge became a priority after the 2023 elections. This led to the construction of modern interchange flyovers and expansion of major roads into dual carriageways under a broader urban renewal programme.
The Governor described the projects as landmark developments and among the first of their kind in Northern Nigeria, noting that they will provide lasting solutions to congestion in key commercial areas of Kano metropolis.
He expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work, reiterating his administration’s commitment to delivering people-centred governance. He added that infrastructure development will remain a priority to improve mobility, attract investment and modernise the city.
In separate remarks, Aliyu Sani Madakin Gini, Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa, and Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi commended the Governor for executing transformative and people-oriented projects.
They noted that the administration’s focus on roads, bridges and urban renewal is already improving transportation and expanding commercial activities across the state.
The inspection tour also covered other ongoing and completed projects within Kano metropolis, reinforcing the government’s commitment to infrastructure modernisation and economic development.
