The President of the Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF), Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, alongside members of the Federation’s executive board, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Kano State following the passing of Coach Yakubu.
In a statement, the Federation described the late coach as a dedicated sportsman whose commitment, love, and passion greatly contributed to the growth and development of basketball in Kano State and across Nigeria.
The NSSF noted that Coach Yakubu’s contributions to grassroots basketball will remain indelible, emphasizing that he was known during his lifetime as a hardworking, disciplined, and straightforward individual.
Speaking through the National Public Relations Officer, Malam Sagiru Sani Dandango, the Federation conveyed its sympathy to the Kano State Government, the Ministry of Education, and the sporting community, particularly school children who benefited from the coach’s mentorship.
The Federation urged all concerned to accept his passing as the will of Almighty Allah and prayed for the repose of his soul, asking that he be granted eternal mercy.
