The chairman state Committee for the payment of gratuity, Permanent Secretary Salahuddeen Habib Isa says payment of the 3rd tranche gratuity for retirees in the state is in progress.
This follows approval by the Kano state Government for the continuation of the payment exercise.
He made the remark during the verification of retirees files by the Committee being conducted at the state Pension Fund Trustees headquarters.
The chairman of the Committee explained that Abba Kabiru Yusuf led administration is committed and willing to settle the backlog of over forty billion naira gratuity owed retirees by the immediate past administration.
Salahuddeen Habib maintained that the state Government has so far granted sixteen billion naira for the payment, aside the upward review, non deduction and seamless payment of Pension as and when due.
The Permanent Secretary, while thanking the Governor for the privilege to serve in the Committee, urged the senior citizens and indeed active civil servants to continue to support government policies and programmes in order to achieve the desired objectives.
