President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends heartfelt congratulations to the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, on his 63rd birthday, marked on January 5, 2026.
The President commends Governor Yusuf for his integrity, modesty, humility, and unwavering commitment to public service, qualities that have been evident in his administration of Kano State.
Governor Yusuf was elected in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Prior to his election, he served as Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport from 2011 to 2015 during the administration of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.
President Tinubu notes that Governor Yusuf’s administration in Kano—long regarded as a bastion of progressive politics in Northern Nigeria—reflects a renewed commitment to grassroots development and the alleviation of the hardships faced by the talakawa, ideals championed by the late Mallam Aminu Kano.
The President remarks:
“Governor Yusuf’s leadership experience, particularly his years as commissioner overseeing key strategic portfolios in Kano State, appears to have prepared him well for the infrastructural transformation currently underway in the state.
“He has embarked on extensive urban renewal programmes, including the construction of bridges and road networks, such as the five-kilometre roads in each local government area.
“I also understand that his declaration of a state of emergency in education has led to a notable improvement in the performance of Kano students in NECO examinations.”
President Tinubu wishes Governor Yusuf long life, good health, and many more years of impactful and transformative leadership in Kano State.
If you want it styled more formally, shortened for media use, or adapted for a speech or social media release, I can do that too.
