Chairman of Civil Society Organisations across the nineteen Northern States Comrade Ibrahim Wayya made the call at a National Conference held in the capital titled the state of the Nation.
Right from its establishment, Conference of Northern States Civil Society Networks,has been working round the clock as a pressure group in alerting the on critical issues aimed at taking action before things went out of hand.
While speaking at the News Conference its Chairman Comrade Ibrahim Waiya reminded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the need to be fair in steering the affairs of the Nation.
He pointed out that as he has been elected on the reign of power he has no single constituent but the country.
Comrade Waiya contended that based on the development,he should guard against interfering in affairs pertaining the judiciary citing cases regarding Kano, Plateau and Zamfara Governors that are before the Supreme court hence allow the law to take it course.
He however admonished the National Judicial Council on the need to make reforms and amendments where necessary as an independent body with a view to guard against the eye brows raised being on their stance as impartial umpires.
The News Conference also reminded the government on the need to improve the socio economic wellbeing of the citizenry going by the present hardship the country has found itself as a result of increase in fuel price and other steps taking by the government which made hundreds wallowing in abject poverty and cause upsurge in criminality.
It however condemned how the country’s Treasury is being looted by certain few going by recent revelation calling on the government and its regulatory agencies like the EFCC to take action on those found guilty devoid of referential treatment.
Turning to rampant kidnapping and child trafficking the gathering enjoined the government to be alive to its pivotal role of protecting the lives and protectives of the citizenry hence the need to take action on how best to avert the rate of missing children from this part of the country taken to the other with a view to ensuring harmonious and peaceful co existence.
While on banditry and act of terrorism,the conference enjoined the president and security chiefs likewise the National. Security Adviser to restrategized through working jointly aimed at overcoming the huge loss of lives and properties across all angles of the country and collosal lost of public funds and on the other hand the wider community to accord helping hand as upholding peace is a collective effort.
