It has now become obvious that some Referees are tools of causing violence at football pitches
Certainly this was what was noticed during Kano Pillars engagement with visiting Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan at Sani Abacha Stadium in continuation of Nigeria’s top flight
Profoundly ,what could have been an emphatic victory for the home side was denied by the match officials under Muhammad Tuta from Adamawa State
The home side scored in the early minutes of the game through enterprising Mustapha Jibrin to make the duel one nil at half time
While at the resumption of play in the second half, the Pyramid City Lads got two clean penalties but the centre referee for reason best known to him denied them and disallowed the host any inch that will secure them victory in the course of the match like to say they are playing in another continent while giving the away side undue advantages aimed at making them happy not minding what will be the aftermath of the story
Thus ,during the tail end of the match after the official added five additional minutes the visitors gained an indirect kick which was well converted into the net to make the encounter paralleled
This did not go down well with the fans going by how the centre referee stood his ground and scuttled the hope of their darling team in earning additional points that could have improved their standing on the log as by and large the league is climaxing
Sincerely speaking it is our prayers that match officials should try by all means to uphold neutrality in observing their laid down assignment as impartial umpires not siding with one side to the detriment of the other to guard against fracas in view of what the mess caused during the tie as boldly speaking the centre referee Muhammad Tuta was the primary agent of what transpired at the pitch
On the other hand, spectators should be taught on how best to cultivate the habit of accepting whatever happened in the course of game in good faith
This will definitely help in ensuring Nigeria be at par with other soccer power houses in the continent
