The evil eye is real — the Prophet ﷺ said:
“العَيْنُ حَقٌّ”
_“The evil eye is real.”_
— Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim
Allah warns in the Qur’an:
*﴿وَإِن يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ﴾*
_“And indeed, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes when they hear the Reminder…”_
(Qur’an 68:51)
In today’s world of social media, many people constantly display:
Beauty (natural & artificial).
Children.
Blessings.
But not every eye that sees you wishes you well.
Some look with:
• Envy.
• Hidden resentment.
• Harmful admiration.
And the effect can be real:
— Sudden illness.
— Unexplained problems.
— Loss of blessings.
Protect yourself:
• Say:
مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ،
تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ
_“As Allah has willed, blessed is Allah.”_
• Recite: Surah Al-Falaq & Surah An-Nās
• Make du‘ā:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِن شُرُورِهِمْ
_“O Allah, I place You before them and seek refuge in You from their evil.”_
• Avoid unnecessary exposure of your beauty, your children, and your private blessings.
Final Thought:
Not every blessing should be displayed.
Concealment is protection. Modesty is safety.
May Allah protect us all from the evil eye. 🤲
