Obviously, nobody wants to be associated with set backs as it has no master
During recent occasions Nigeria one of the power houses in African sports particularly soccer, had faced a series of dismal performances in the round leather game
The situation caused a lot of controversy across certain interest groups hence made some individuals to be laughing stock within the sports circle
It is highly disgusting, disgraceful and shameful that the unfortunate scenario is now generating a lot of noise and insinuation among football lovers across the larger locality
The problem did not stop there as it led to one apportioning blame and condemnation on the other
But one astonishment aspect of it is that when the going was good nothing similar was heard which means most people are not after your success but rather otherwise
This is definitely the situation the Boss of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee found himself despite the efforts he made previously in making countrymen and women proud , joy and happy going by the number of accolades and prizes he led Nigeria to win during recent tournaments for instance wafcon in Morocco and silver medal by super Eagles in recent nations cup hosted by Ivory Coast
It is disheartening to note that most of those pointing such accusing fingers failed to understand that there is no condition that is permanent
Knowingly or knowingly when things were smooth and fluent the Head of the Committee who was formerly an ex soccer star and proprietor of a club nobody was asking of his credentials or calling for his head until now that we are facing an abysmal situation which I am of the firm belief is temporary
Thus, from this, one will understand that the architects behind the disparaging remarks and damages may be they were doing so out of sentiment , envy and jealousy or just to serve the aim and objectives of their masters who are aimed at settling scores with him
Nigeria is one and when the country•s contingents suffered a defeat in a particular event the blame will not be pinpointed on a particular individual but rather the entire leadership likewise in terms of victory, as a phrase says United we stand but divided we fall
In this respect it becomes apparent to learn how best to be good losers
Absolutely the time of reference insulting, side talks, hypocrisy , whispering condemnation ,attributing fault to someone should be over
This will seriously help in sanitising the whole system as anything dissimilar will not take us anywhere but ensure our downfall
Rightly speaking,if the mighty Brazil will fail to scale through to the last eight of world cup also Germany and above all Italy that have not featured in the event for two consecutive competitions why the too much noise on Nigeria ‘s inability to make it through to the women’s world cup for the first time since its inception in 1991
The castigation should be a thing of the past but not to the extent of ascribing the reason behind to someone that has been doing his utmost to blossom the good name of the country to the outside world in the sport
Thus, the witch-hunting and campaign of calumny should stop once and for all for the sake of justice, fairness,peace, harmonious coexistence and progression of the game
Frankly speaking, celebrating the failure of others is like stabbing yourself as you did not know how creditable you will perform if you are given the mandate
It becomes apparent that we should try to uphold unity and understanding and to put in our minds and hearts that an injury to one is like to all
This will surely take the game and the country to where it rightly belongs in history but anything parallel will spell doom for the round leather game and the country at large
