Tuesday the first of April 2025 ,brought to an end the life span of one of the most revered traditional title holders in Kano
This was none other person than Alhaji Abbas Sunusi who gave up the ghost after a prolonged illness
The late traditional head age ninety two, ,was born as early as 1933 in Bichi Local Government Area
The deceased attended middle school now Rumfa College where he obtained his secondary school certificate
The prince who was the fifth among the sixty four children of his late father Emir of Kano Calipha Muhammadu Sunusi the first,was appointed Sarkin Dawakin Tsakar Gida and District Head of Ungogo by his late father and
later rose to the position of Dan Iya during the short span of late Emir of Kano Muhammadu Inuwa
Alhaji Abbas Sunusi was elevated to the rank of Wambai during the reign of demised Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero a position he held up to when he was promoted to the office of Galadima by his nephew Calipha Muhammadu Sunusi the second after the death of Alhaji Tijjani Hashim the immediate past Galadima of Kano
Alhaji Abbas Sunusi who was the eldest among the traditional title holders in the Palace,having assumed the work load since when he was young played a significant role in ensuring sustainable peace and tranquility not only in the Emirate alone but rather the wider society
Certainly,the demised of the royal father had created another hole in the traditional institution that without Oita of trepidation be pretty difficult to fill
This was due to the fact that as a wise word says the word of elders usually entails wisdom and vision
But as it is transparently stated that for anyone of us is time appointed when the time is due nobody will waste time,there is nothing one can do rather than to pray to God to erase his weaknesses, lighten his grave and grant him jannatul firdausi
Alhaji Abbas Sunusi who was widely agreed to be calmed, patient, diplomat, sincere and open, died leaving behind forty children, grand and great grand children
The children encompass Chairman of Kano wing of APC Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, Alhaji Awaisu Abbas Alhaji Muawiyya Abbas among others
Sincerely speaking the death of Galadima is that of a collosus
