People across the wider community woke up on Saturday morning with the sad story of the death of Colossus Alhaji Aminu Dantata fondly called Chairman or Dogo Dan Ummah by hundreds of his admirers
The news came unaware as he died at a critical moment when gentle men like him were highly in need by the greater population in view of the present economic quagmire being faced in the society
But as it was rightly stated nobody will surpass his time when it is due he has to give up the ghost
Quite a number of people within Kano and beyond cried over the sad development as a gem has gone as the deceased was so surprising , spectacular and outstanding in his characters for those that knew him during the over nine decades he spent in the universe
Alhaji Aminu Dantata a onetime member of defunct NPC during the first republic and later a member of National Movement which metamorphosed to National Party of Nigeria during the second republic before he called it quit with politics was also a former Commissioner of Commerce during the Military era of Police Commissioner Audu Bako in Kano and served as Chairman and member of board of Directors of many outfits within the country
Alhaji Aminu Dantata a person of unassuming attributes his name was synonymous to assisting the ordinary across the greater community regardless of where they come from
The deceased in view of the present challenges was on many occasions said to have visited former president Muhammad Buhari on many occasions to ask him on the need to lessen the unfavourable economic conditions facing the greater population likewise the present leadership under Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Profoundly,the demise of the affluent has created a huge vacuum that one would not be mistaken if he said it will take a longer period of time before it will be filled as people of such unique qualities are few
This was absolutely right in view of how he singlehandedly spent his wealth getting to millions of Naira generously without filling an inch
This kind of attitude is rare in the present situation going by how stinginess, jealousy,envy ,hatred and spiteful have found a place in most of our hearts and minds
Certainly Alhaji Aminu Dantata was so exemplary both in deeds , actions and characters
Thus as he answered the divine call which all of us are awaiting for anytime from now it is our fervent wish and prayers that his positivity will out smart his negativity hence be accorded free admission to jannatul firdausi
