This is what happened to the household of Alhaji Muhammad Rabiu Bako a veteran journalist, with Radio Nigeria Kaduna, business mogul as well as politician who happens to be the remaining child of Malam Yakubu Ibrahim Bako magajin Garin Sabon Gari in Kaduna State
The deceased who was a younger brother to first Governor of defunct Kano State Police Commissioner Audui Bako passed , on Sunday the first of March this year after some health challenges
Frankly , a hole has been created over the demise of the gentle man in view of his admirable attributes and wealth of experience
Alhaji Mohammed Rabiu Bako,was a former commissioner of information and Chairman of Kaduna local government council
The deceased was a bridge builder and a dependable defender to the larger community as his hands were always open whenever his assistance was needed by all and sundry
Rabiu Bako as testified by the majority was a person committed in fulfilling promises not making pipe dreams
I came to know him being an avid listener of Radio Nigeria Kaduna programmes in both Hausa and English Barka da Yau ,Alkawari Kaya, News Nationwide and Democracy in Action during the 80s as a result of his fluent presentation thus i gained a lot while hearing his stories from Ibadan particularly on the south west complex politics involving the ruling UPN and the opposition NPN of the Shagari era when he

Alhaji Muhammad Rabiu Bako who loss his wife Hajiya Habiba Muhammad Rabiu Bako the presenter of the popular programmes Shafa Labari Shuni and Yara Manyan Gobe of Radio Nigeria Kaduna as early as 2024 and his sister Hajiya Maryam Kurundu in 2022, ventured into the journalism industry in 1961as a casual staff and a year later he was absorbed as a permanent and pensionable worker with Radio Television Kaduna before throwing the towel in 1985
The old horse who was in Kano last year for the launching of a Book written on his late elder brother Alhaji Audu Bako could had been the reporter of Radio Nigeria Kaduna in Kano if not because his brother objected to the plan which he described as uncalled for being a Governor while his brother was serving as a representative of a media channel in his office
Alhaji Rabiu Bako having made the first step towards meeting the supreme being, it is our fervent hope and prayers that as you died during the holy month of Ramadan, God in his infinite mercy,will shorten intricacies you committed knowingly or otherwise, lighten your grave and accept your positivities, overlooked your errors and reward you with heaven
A considerate, consequential, courageous,confidential,and man of immense kindheartedness was no more
