The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, Hon. Abdulkarim Kabiru Maude, has urged students of the Nigerian Law School to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and professionalism in their legal careers.
He gave this charge yesterday at a dinner organised for students of the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus, Bagauda.
According to him, “the legal profession is not only about knowledge of the law, but also about character, responsibility, and commitment to justice.”
The Attorney General attended the event in his dual capacity as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kano State, as well as a member of the Body of Benchers.
The dinner, which is the first of two mandatory dinners, is part of a longstanding tradition designed to prepare students for the ethical and professional demands of legal practice.
The session featured engaging interactions between members of the Body of Benchers and the students, providing an opportunity for mentorship, guidance, and exchange of ideas ahead of their final examinations.
Dignitaries present at the event included Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, Life Bencher, who presided over the dinner; Ibrahim Mohammed, Deputy Director-General and Head of Kano Campus; Honourable Justice Abdu Aboki (Rtd.), former Justice of the Supreme Court; as well as the Chief Judges of Katsina and Jigawa States, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kaduna State, and other distinguished members of the Body of Benchers.
Hon. Maude commended the organisers for sustaining the important tradition and wished the students success in their forthcoming examinations and future careers at the Bar.
